Symplectic Time-Integration and Parallel-in-Time Solvers for Dynamical Systems, ODEs, and PDEs with Applications

Xiangmin Jiao (Stony Brook University) Charalampos (Harry) Markakis (Stony Brook University) and Roman Samulyak (Stony Brook University)

This minisymposium brings together computational scientists and applied mathematicians to explore state-of-the-art symplectic and structure-preserving time-integration methods for dynamical systems, with explicit emphasis on both ordinary and partial differential equations (ODEs and PDEs). The session will highlight advanced sequential methods as well as emerging scalable parallel-in-time and all-at-once solvers for long-time stable and energy-preserving simulation. Presentations will span theoretical numerical analysis, algorithm design, and software implementation. Applications of interest include, but are not limited to, relativistic astrophysics, numerical relativity, celestial mechanics, plasma physics, and fluid dynamics.
