Recent Progress in Numerical Methods and Algorithms for Scientific and Engineering Computing
Dong Liang (York University) Giang Tran (University of Waterloo) and Kazem Cheshmi (McMaster University)
This special session will bring together researchers who will share recent progress in numerical methods and algorithms for scientific and engineering computing. It will focus on advanced numerical methods in science and engineering. The topics of interest are (but not limited to): conservative methods, high-order methods, FEMs, compact FDMs, stochastic methods, optimization methods, machine learning, and parallel computing methods. The session will also emphasize both the design and analysis of algorithms in applications of scientific and engineering computing, especially in fluid dynamics, environmental science, finance, data science, image processing, medical imaging, computational electromagnetics, engineering, and industrial applications. This session will also serve as a forum to bring together research scientists, application pioneers, and software developers to discuss problems and solutions and to identify new challenges in these areas.
