Minisymposium (ID: SS-MMLSM)

Mathematical Modelling in Life Sciences and Medicine

Corina Drapaca (Penn State University), Siv Sivaloganathan (University of Waterloo)

Mathematical models capable to accurately predict multiphysical phenomena active at various time and length scales in living systems (from simple organisms to complex ecosystems) and their interactions are crucial for understanding fundamental mechanisms of life and developing improved protocols and technological tools for monitoring, sustaining and healing humans and nature. The aim of this minisymposium is to present recent advancements in mathematical modelling and corresponding numerical solvers for problems of interest in life sciences and medicine.
