Quantum Control: Toward Quantum Simulation and Quantum Computation
Lian-Ao Wu, (IKERBASQUE, Basque Foundation of Science and University of the Basque Country, Spain)
Control of quantum dynamics is a general theme at the frontier of science and technology, driven by the latest technological developments in femtosecond laser physics, state-selective physical chemistry, materials synthesis, quantum simulation, especially quantum computation in the IBM 50-qubit quantum processor that could show quantum supremacy. In general quantum control theory has been formulated based on quantum mechanics, however its theoretical applications in specific areas are still in progress. This session will focus on the recent developments of quantum control theory and its applications. In particular, dynamical control of open quantum systems, quantum simulations and quantum computation using optical lattices and superconducting qubits, spin ensembles, ultra-cold atoms, and etc.
