Hyperbolic Conservation Laws and Nonlinear Wave Equations
Alberto Bressan (Penn State University), Geng Chen (University of Kansas)
This session is devoted to models of nonlinear wave propagation, with applications in engineering, physics and other sciences. Properties of solutions, and the local structure of singularities, such as shock waves in gas dynamics or cusp singularities for certain wave equations, will be a topic of particular interest. Contributions dealing with applications of hyperbolic models, such as oil reservoirs, granular flow or traffic flow on networks, are also welcome.
