Quantum Control: Theory and Application
Organizers: Lian-Ao Wu, (IKERBASQUE, Basque Foundation of Science and
University of the Basque Country, Spain)
Control of quantum dynamics is of great interest and has become a
general theme at the frontier of science and technology, driven by the
latest technological developments in femtosecond laser physics,
state-selective physical chemistry, materials synthesis, quantum
information processing and quantum computing. While quantum control
theory has been formulated based on fundamental quantum mechanics, its
theoretical applications in specific areas, such as control of open
systems, are still in progress. This session will focus on the recent
developments of quantum control theory and its applications. In
particular, master equation approaches of open systems, dynamical
control, quantum simulations using optical lattices, spin ensembles,
ultra-cold atoms and etc.
