Mathematics in Biology and Medicine

Kathleen Wilkie (Toronto Metropolitan University) and Corina Drapaca (Penn State University)

Mathematical modelling in biology and medicine involves a wide array of mathematical and computational techniques. Modelling builds predictive tools that can explore proposed hypotheses and help to develop new understanding from experimental or clinical data. In this special session, speakers will present on a variety of approaches to applications in biology and health research, aimed at improving our understanding of basic biology and disease progression.
